Help shape specialist lung cancer services from the very beginning Genesis Care is expanding its UK network with a brand-new cancer care centre in Leeds, bringing together advanced treatment technology, specialist clinical expertise and a patient-centred approach to care.

As the founding Clinical Nurse Specialist Lung Cancer, you will play a key role in establishing specialist lung cancer services within our new Leeds centre.

Working alongside leading consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you will support patients throughout their treatment journey whilst helping to shape pathways, standards and services from the outset.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new team, influence how care is delivered and make a meaningful difference to patients and their families at every stage of their cancer experience.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Lung Cancer, you will act as the designated Key Worker for patients undergoing treatment, providing expert clinical support, education and care coordination throughout their journey.

Working closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will deliver specialist nursing care, advocate for patients and contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality, evidence-based services that place patients at the centre of everything we do.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Manage a specialist caseload of lung cancer patients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and advocate for patients and their families.
  • Undertake holistic needs assessments and develop personalised care plans.
  • Coordinate care across consultants, nursing teams and external healthcare providers.
  • Provide specialist advice, education and emotional support throughout the patient pathway.
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Promote self-management and support patients to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Help establish and develop specialist lung cancer services within the new Leeds centre.
  • What You’ll Have
  • Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Significant post-registration experience within lung cancer care, oncology or a closely related speciality.
  • Experience supporting patients through complex cancer pathways.
  • Excellent assessment, communication and care coordination skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with patients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Experience working autonomously whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or within an advanced practice role would be advantageous.
