The role
Are you looking to start a hands-on career in a specialist engineering field? Do you enjoy practical work, learning new skills? Omega Red Group is looking for a Trainee Fall Protection Operative to join our growing Height Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to learn and build a long-term career within the industry, regardless of previous experience. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, receiving full training while assisting with the installation, inspection, testing, and repair of height safety systems across a range of sites nationwide. As part of your development, you’ll have access to industry-recognised training and qualifications, including the opportunity to work towards an NVQ training in Working at Heights following a qualifying period. If you’re motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced engineers with the installation, testing, inspection, and repair of height safety systems
- Learn industry best practices and safe working procedures while working on a variety of sites across the UK
- Support project delivery by helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality at all times
- Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Develop technical skills through practical on-the-job training and formal learning opportunities
- Contribute positively to the team and demonstrate a willingness to learn

- Previous experience working outdoors or in a field-based role
