Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for experienced and passionate Laundry Assistants to join our award-winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand-new purpose-built service location in South Bristol, providing high-quality care and supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health, and dementia care needs in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person's unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. What You’ll Bring

  • 12 months previous experience working in a similar environment (essential)
  • Previous experience in a care home (desirable)
  • Ability to work alone, as well as in a team, and form positive relationships with colleagues, residents, and visitors
  • Positive attitude towards residents
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

Your Working Pattern

Working Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm. You’ll be scheduled to work 5 days out of 7, which will include weekend shifts as part of a regular rota.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents' personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen
  • Ensuring that all bed, table, and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
  • Keeping the laundry area clean and maintaining separate areas for freshly laundered and soiled articles
  • Segregating and distributing residents' clothing and linen as requested
  • Complying with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health, and Fire Procedures
  • Abiding by the Company’s health and safety policy specifically in the handling of soiled materials
