Meet Maria, a quality and respectful very private person. She is a kind and loving Mum, has great patience and understanding, with a beautiful nature and great personality. Maria enjoys sewing, being creative and achieving things. She used to be able to do many things like gardening, but is now unable due to her mobility and dementia. However, if she can sit and do things, it makes her happy accomplishing something that can be of use.

You’ll support Maria with washing and dressing, including preparing breakfast, assisting to the toilet, and being there to oversee in case she should fall or require your assistance with tasks. You will also give Maria her medication, keep her company, and stimulate her to keep her mind busy, pushing her wheelchair and/or overseeing her walk with a frame from A to B.

Maria would love to work with someone who is soft, kind, has a gentle nature, respectful, trustworthy, understanding, and patient as she has dementia and forgets things. You will need to repeat things often and never assume. She would adore you to be a very happy person and always smiling, giving her a little laugh along the way as she is used to this environment with her loving family.

Maria lives in a rural location outside Larkhall with no public transport or pavements near her home, so it’s important you’re comfortable working in this area. You must also be comfortable with a dog living in the home.

This role involves 14 hours per week, with flexibility of more depending on Maria’s needs. The pay is £14.45 per hour. Days and times are very flexible and can be discussed at interview.

While experience with dementia is helpful, a respectful, trustworthy, patient, soft, and gentle nature is most important. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
