About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (NMC Registered) to join our team at Beaumont College.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to students with complex needs, supporting their health, wellbeing, independence and participation in college life.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering clinical care, promoting best practice, supporting staff development and contributing to the continuous improvement of nursing services across the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care & Health Management
- Undertake holistic nursing assessments and develop person-centred care plans.
• Deliver and oversee a range of clinical interventions including
- Catheter care and catheterisation
- Enteral feeding (PEG/NG)
- Tracheostomy care and suction (where applicable)
- Wound care and tissue viability management
- Epilepsy and seizure management
- Oxygen therapy and management
- Monitor health needs, recognise deterioration and elevate concerns appropriately.
- Promote health, wellbeing, independence and positive outcomes for students.
- Safely administer, store and manage medications in line with legislation and professional standards.
- Support medicines optimisation, PRN protocols and e MAR documentation.
- Investigate and report medication incidents, promoting continuous learning and safe practice.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding for children and adults.
- Support risk assessments, incident investigations and action planning.
- Promote safe working environments through infection prevention, health & safety compliance and clinical governance.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Provide clinical leadership and support high standards of nursing practice.
- Carry out practice observations, competency assessments and coaching for nursing and care staff.
- Support induction, supervision, mentoring and ongoing staff development.
- Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement and positive clinical outcomes.
- Partnership Working
- Build effective relationships with students, families, advocates and healthcare professionals.
- Work collaboratively with education, therapy and support teams to deliver coordinated care.
- Liaise with external professionals including GPs, SALT, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians and specialist nursing services.
About You
- Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
- Strong understanding of the NMC Code and professional practice standards.
- Experience delivering person-centred care to individuals with complex health needs.
- Excellent communication, assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, medicines management and risk management.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
- Experience working within learning disability, education or specialist care settings.
- Experience supporting and assessing staff competencies.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary and integrated care approaches.
