If you are seeking a Laboratory Technician's role within an interesting, growing business who work across a number of industry sectors, this could be the opportunity you seek.

You will be required to work across a 4 shift pattern on a rotation (including some weekends with each shift being 12hrs, 6am-6pm or 6pm to 6am) which will reward you with a 15% uplift on the basic salary.

The Role

  • Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence. Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers.
  • Preparation of samples for analysis.
  • Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment.
  • Inputting of results to company database.
  • Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture.

Preferred Skills

  • A science background with good mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role.
  • Flexibility to work within a small team to provide 24/7 laboratory cover with the ability to work across this 3 shift work pattern.
  • Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to work alone, self-sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Working Hours

37.5 hours per week, WITH A 15% SHIFT PREMIUM. 4 shift pattern on a rotation (including some weekends with each shift being 12hrs, 6am-6pm or 6pm to 6am).
