An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Pharmacy Technician in our Churchill, Canbury, Orchard and Berrylands Primary Care Network (CCOB PCN). We care for approximately 50,000 patients, based in four practices across the borough of Kingston; this role will be based at The Churchill Medical Centre and The Orchard Practice.
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Pharmacy Technician with excellent communication skills to join us. We already work with a team of prescribing clerks and a clinical pharmacist across our practices and are keen to expand our team.
The role will support the practice teams within our network to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, reducing medicines waste and maximising patient outcomes. The Pharmacy Technicians will work alongside prescribing clerks and clinical pharmacists as well as with the GPs and Nurses based in the practices.
The role will be a mix of in house service development with the opportunity for patient facing work and will require a commitment to improving health and putting patients first. Key qualities will be the ability to build effective relationships with patients, GPs, nurses, community pharmacists, hospital and PCN staff, and to work effectively as part of a team.
Prior experience working in general practice or a similar role would be an advantage, but candidates from all backgrounds will be considered. The successful candidate will need registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician and have a BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences. A sound clinical knowledge and computer literacy is also required.
We can offer a range of benefits to the successful candidate including:
- six weeks annual leave
- membership of the NHS Pension scheme
- a competitive salary
The practices have a strong record of supporting further training and development for staff. If you think you have the right experience and are up to the challenge, we would be keen to hear from you. Informal visits to the practice and further discussion about the role can be arranged, please contact Joanna Hoppe (joanna.hoppe@nhs.net).
Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
