As an IT Support Technician, you will:
- Assist with the IT operations, Desktop/Network support and implementing new systems/technologies.
- Provide a customer friendly support service to end users.
How you'll help us make health happen:
- Provide first and second line desktop, software and network support.
- Ensure the IT infrastructure is kept up to date.
- Work with the Information Systems Manager to investigate areas where the infrastructure could be improved.
- Manage daily and monthly backups.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network security and performance.
- Maintain the hospital's internet and email system.
- Monitor servers and server logs for warnings and errors and troubleshoot any problems that might arise.
- Train and advise users on system applications where required.
- Support off the shelf and bespoke software used across different departments.
- Liaise with third party software suppliers.
- Perform administrative tasks on data in order to keep information current.
- Avoid any behaviour which discriminates against patients/relatives, visitors, employees or potential employees on the grounds of their sex, race, ethnic or national origins, colour, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation or age.
- Be customer friendly.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Previous experience in an IT Support, Service Desk, or Helpdesk role.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi.
- PAX experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple support requests.
