We are looking for a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist who is passionate about working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental presentations, to work in our warm and friendly CAMHS Neurodevelopmental service. The CAMHS service now resides within new and transformed CAMHS buildings on the Springfield hospital site.

The CAMHS Neurodevelopmental service supports children, young people and their families with neurodevelopmental presentations. Our MDT service is made up of disciplines including Psychiatry, Clinical and Counselling Psychology, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Positive Behaviour Support.
The service offers assessments and pre/post diagnosis interventions for children and young people presenting with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. ASD and ADHD) including formulation and diagnosis where appropriate, as well as recommendations and signposting to our other services provided by partner organisations and services.
The CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team serves the population of Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton, Kingston and Richmond. We value inclusivity in our service and are actively working in partnership with community organisations and families/carers to reach young people who find ‘traditional’ routes of neurodevelopmental services not accessible to them.

- Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients in the Community CAMHS Directorate across all sectors of care.
- Provide psychological assessment and where needed psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
- Complete screenings for families referred for neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD and ADHD.
- Contribute to diagnostic assessments and draft preparation of clinical reports, data collection (qualitative and quantitative), preparation of databases and analysis of service development, audit, research and promotion of service user involvement.
- Work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
- Assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection and analysis of data, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching, and project work.
- Help facilitate our brief intervention groups for families.
- Complete regular Mental Health welfare check-in calls to families.
