Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately. Step Teachers are working closely with a range of schools across King's Lynn and the surrounding area, offering regular opportunities for both short-term and longer-term supply.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Help implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required
- Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with staff
- Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Adaptability across different classrooms and school environments
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Willingness to undertake additional training and development
