We have a new opportunity to join this great business based near Kings Lynn.

This site operates one of the world's largest and most advanced newsprint machines, producing up to 400,000 tonnes of newsprint, improved newsprint, and magazine grades each year using 100% recycled fibre.

A dedicated on‑site recycling operation supplies the waste paper required for production, providing collection and recycling services to both public‑sector and commercial customers.

Working on 8-hour rotating shifts with optional overtime.

  • Your new role
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and routine servicing across the plant.
  • Respond quickly and safely to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Fault-find, diagnose and repair issues on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, boilers, fuel handling systems, equipment and associated process plant.
  • Work on electrical systems including motors, control panels, sensors, drives, relays, PLC-controlled equipment and instrumentation.
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of combustion, steam, turbine, boiler and material handling systems.
  • Complete maintenance tasks in accordance with permits to work, risk assessments, method statements and site procedures.
  • Carry out basic fabrication, welding, fitting and mechanical repair work where competent to do so.
  • Use the site maintenance management system to record work completed, parts used, defects identified and follow-up actions required.
  • Support continuous improvement activity to improve plant reliability, availability, safety and performance.
  • Assist with shutdowns, outages, contractor supervision and project work as required.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across workshops, plant areas and engineering stores.
  • Report defects, hazards, near misses and safety concerns promptly and support a positive safety culture.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and documentation within the CMMS systems.
  • What you need to succeed

Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent time-served background in mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled maintenance engineering.

Level 3 engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, EAL Diploma, BTEC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Maintenance

Good practical knowledge of safe isolation, lock-off/tag-out, permits to work, risk assessments and method statements.
