We are seeking an exceptional Medical Oncologist to lead our Breast and Hepatico‑Pancreatico‑Biliary (HPB) cancer services and help shape the future of oncological care within our trust. What You'll Lead and Develop

  • Delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred oncology care across Breast and HPB pathways.
  • Multidisciplinary team working, ensuring seamless, evidence‑based management for complex cancer cases.
  • Increased recruitment into clinical trials and expansion of research activity.

The Department

The appointee will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of Oncology which is an integral part of the Division of Medicine at the QEH. The trust has an integrated Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care Unit, consisting of a Cancer Care and Treatment Unit, 12 bedded Inpatient Ward, Chemotherapy Suite, and Cancer Wellbeing and Support Centre.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree, with full registration and licence to practise with the GMC.
  • MRCP (UK) Part 1 and Part 2.
  • Eligibility for the GMC Specialist Register in Medical Oncology, either already listed or within six months of achieving CCT/CESR at the time of interview.

Clinical Expertise

  • Training and experience equivalent to UK CCT in Medical Oncology, demonstrating readiness for independent consultant practice.
  • Extensive experience in prescribing systemic anti‑cancer therapy, including familiarity with electronic prescribing systems.
  • Experience in Acute Oncology, with the ability to contribute effectively to emergency cancer care pathways.
  • A strong grounding in the Specialist Generic Capabilities Framework, reflecting high standards in clinical judgement, leadership, communication, and patient‑centred care.
  • A postgraduate thesis, either awarded or pending, reflecting commitment to academic development and evidence‑based practice.
