Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate -Older Adult Community Mental health team South Lakes. 27.75 hours (0.74)

An interesting and varied vacancy has become available for a qualified Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate.

The role will be in the Community Mental Health Team function within the wider Older Adult integrated Mental Health services.

The core responsibilities of the post will be to oversee and monitor your own caseload and support senior staff in delivering quality care and treatment programmes to patients with mental health challenges with a focus on supporting with monitoring physical health needs of patients.

Supervision will be provided to support you in the role

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the role and, its development, and be driven to provide excellent mental health services to the local older adult population.

In addition to core professional skills, the post holder will also be expected to undertake a range of other generic clinical duties to support the team functions and be responsive to the needs of patients, their family and carers

  • You will be a Registered Nursing Associate working within a multidisciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties.
  • As a Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate within the team you will be regularly supported and supervised by a senior nurse and you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.
  • You will be required to undertake the administration of depot medications; however, these will not include medications deemed as high risk.

You will also monitor for side effects and efficacy of other medications, including cognitive enhancers, and provide titration advice.

  • You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct.

You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.

  • You will provide support to the nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.
  • You will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • You will be required to offer clinical leadership to Health Care Support Workers.
