Morgan Hunt is pleased to announce that we are working with several Colleges and Sixth Forms in and around Isleworth on a preferred supplier basis. Together, we are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant.
Job Type: Temporary
Location: Isleworth
Length of Contract: Temporary - Ongoing
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide physical and communication support using methods appropriate to the individual needs of the student.
- To provide communication support to enable full access to the curriculum and extra-curricular activities (e.g. lessons, assemblies, parents' evenings, reviews, and visits).
- To work with individual students and small groups with additional needs under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
- To help plan and organise learning activities for supported students.
- To provide support that facilitates cognitive development by removing barriers to learning.
- To ensure the physical welfare of students and assist with physical needs as agreed, including personal care for male students.
- To support students with moving and handling, including hoisting, where required.
- To assist with intimate care, such as toileting and changing, in a professional and respectful manner.
- Under the guidance of the SENCO, contribute to setting and reviewing individual targets, attend review meetings, and contribute to written reports.
- To monitor student progress, maintain accurate written records in line with Academy systems, and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities (e.g. autism, ADHD, complex needs).
- Experience working within an educational environment providing academic and/or personal care support.
- Experience with or willingness to provide personal care and hoisting support, including moving and handling.
- Available to interview immediately.
- Right to Work in the UK and an Enhanced Adult & Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or registered on the update service.
