Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Engineering Technician to join our Estates and Facilities team. In this varied and rewarding role, you will help ensure that a wide range of medical equipment is safe, reliable, and available to support outstanding patient care across our hospital sites.
Working as part of a specialist Clinical Engineering team, you will undertake maintenance, repair, calibration, testing, and commissioning of medical devices, while providing expert technical support to clinical staff. You will also contribute to equipment safety, training, quality assurance, and service improvement initiatives across the Trust. - Carry out maintenance, repair, calibration and safety testing of a wide range of medical equipment.
- Commission, install and acceptance-test new medical devices.
- Diagnose faults and provide technical support to clinical departments across the Trust.
- Ensure medical equipment complies with safety standards, regulations and quality requirements.
- Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment availability.
- Maintain accurate service, maintenance and calibration records.
- Liaise with manufacturers and external service providers regarding repairs and specialist support.
- Deliver training and advice to healthcare staff on the safe use of medical equipment.
- Support equipment safety investigations, risk assessments and service improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the day-to-day running of the Clinical Engineering Department and support junior team members where required.
As a Clinical Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring medical equipment across the Trust is safe, reliable, and fully operational. You will undertake the maintenance, repair, calibration, testing, and commissioning of a wide range of medical devices, provide specialist technical support to clinical teams, and contribute to equipment safety, quality assurance, risk management, and staff training.
