MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies / guidelines / procedures relating to resuscitation and DNACPR throughout the Trust To establish and maintain effective lines of communication with Trust employees and management To deliver teaching to nursing, medical and other appropriate staff in resuscitation To attend calls to the cardiac arrest team (adult and paediatric) To assist in the audit requirements of the department PROFESSIONAL ROLE: To promote the importance of resuscitation throughout the Trust To assist in the implementation of an effective equipment replacement programme when required Will be a member of the Resuscitation Committee Will deputise at meetings when required Will take personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with resuscitation developments Will maintain effective teamwork and communication within the Resuscitation Department CLINICAL ROLE: To maintain clinical expertise by attending resuscitation attempts To ensure that procedures carried out are within current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines To act as a role model in resuscitation practice, leading the cardiac arrest team where necessary To ensure that resuscitation attempts attended are accurately documented For full details of the responsibilities and duties of this role please see the attached job description.
