About the Role
You will provide 1:1 live-in support for a warm, thoughtful individual with long-standing Parkinson's disease, helping her live safely and independently in her home with her two sons and pets (dog and turtle). This role blends personal care with daily support work. The client requires help with strict medication schedules, mobility support during 'freezing' episodes, showering, and dressing. You will also help structure her day—charging her devices and electric chair, untangling wool, and encouraging her love for crafts and puzzles. Warmth, patience, and a sense of humour are key to supporting her through emotional low points.
Comprehensive theoretical and practical training
Clear career progression opportunities
Weekly pay (PAYE or Umbrella options)
Refer-a-friend scheme & enhanced bank holiday pay
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 live-in care, companionship, and daily routine support.
- Personal care (showering assistance, lower-body dressing, applying lotions).
- Mobility support, managing freezing episodes, and preventing falls.
- Administering strictly timed medications and monitoring complex equipment.
- Daily planning (charging iPad/iPhone/wheelchair, setting up craft activities).
- Emotional encouragement and basic pet support (letting the dog out).
- Maintaining accurate records and liaising with family and health professionals.
Who We're Looking For:
- Minimum 6 months of professional UK care experience (Complex Care/Parkinson's experience preferred).
- Comfortable working around pets (dog and turtle).
- Non-driver required (family assists with outings).
You’ll join a team dedicated to empowering individuals with complex needs to maintain independence, dignity, and a fulfilling life through compassionate, tailored care.
