An established and market-leading organisation is seeking an Internal Controls Specialist to join the business in a newly created role. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key part in strengthening the financial control environment across a complex, multi-entity organisation, working closely with both local finance teams and group functions.
Your new role
As the Internal Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting, reviewing and enhancing the organisation's control framework while providing independent assurance over the effectiveness of financial controls. You will coordinate control activities across multiple locations, assess and challenge control evidence, perform testing of key controls, and monitor remediation actions to ensure issues are resolved effectively. The role will also involve producing insightful reports for senior stakeholders, maintaining risk and control documentation, supporting internal and external audits, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive greater efficiency across the business.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in internal controls, audit and risk management within a complex or growing organisation; Sox experience is highly desirable. Experience of multi-entity environments, process improvement and control automation initiatives will be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be confident in challenging existing practices, managing stakeholders at all levels and investigating root causes of control deficiencies to implement effective, long-term solutions.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a salary of up to £70,000 plus an attractive benefits package. The role offers hybrid working, 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, and access to a competitive pension scheme, alongside the opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing and forward-thinking organisation.
