This post is intended to attract candidates wishing to utilise the Portfolio Pathway (previously called CESR) to acquire specialist registration in Cardiology, which enables them to be geographically stable at a single world-class academic health sciences centre, while in parallel developing international-grade expertise in a subspeciality through a prestigious externally funded PhD and opportunities to exploit it further in dedicated postdoctoral research time.
The Fellow will initially divide their time between training in:
- echocardiography (10%)
- angiography (10%)
- electrophysiology/devices procedures (5%)
- acute cardiology care (40%)
- chronic cardiology care (15%)

As the Fellow progresses, this distribution will change to accommodate their training needs and their subspeciality interest.
