Indicative Job Plan CHEC operates a flexible and modifiable Consultant job planning model based on Programmed Activities (PAs).
An indicative full-time job plan of 10 PAs Final job plans will be agreed with the Clinical Director and reviewed annually to reflect service requirements and individual interests.
What Will I Be Doing as a Consultant Gastroenterologist?
The successful candidate will provide high-quality Gastroenterology services to patients referred to CHEC, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional clinical care and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities will include: Delivering Consultant-led Gastroenterology outpatient clinics.
Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients referred to the service.
Undertaking diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures.
Delivering a minimum expectation of two endoscopy lists per week.
Providing expert clinical advice and treatment recommendations.
Supporting the continued growth, delivery and development of CHEC's community-based Gastroenterology services.
Supporting the Clinical Director in the development, leadership and strategic direction of CHEC's Gastroenterology services.
Leading and contributing to clinical governance, audit, service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Supporting the implementation of innovative clinical pathways and service developments.
Providing clinical leadership and expertise to multidisciplinary teams.
Supporting service delivery across CHEC sites within the South region when required.
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with organisational policies and GMC standards.
Working in accordance with CHEC clinical protocols, policies and values.
