The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members

, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

Provide tuition and guidance to adult learners and deliver the

core adult learning offer. The core offer is literacy, numeracy,

core skills, ICT and ESOL

Work collaboratively with adult learners to improve their

literacy, numeracy, ICT, English language and core skills

Work collaboratively with adult learners to address personal growth through experiential learning and

development of core skills to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults or willingness to obtain prior

to a formal offer of employment being made

Membership of Community Learning and Development Standards Council, or

commitment to join within first 3 months of appointment.

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Developing and maintaining positive relationships with people participating in adult

learning programmes

Delivering Adult Literacies, English for Speakers of other languages (ESOL), Digital or other

Community Based adult learning for outcomes of personal development and to raise levels

of skills and confidence

How individuals learn and familiarity with a range of educational approaches using

appropriate materials

Being flexible and adapting approaches and styles for different audiences

Monitoring and evaluation processes

Planning, achieving and maintaining quality outcomes within tight deadlines

Communicating effectively in a variety of work settings.

A working knowledge of wider community resources/potential referral sources
