To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join our team at our our Head Office location (LE67 6HS).

This role is a full time, permanent position.

As our Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for

  • Processing UK payroll of 2,000 colleagues as part of a team of 3 Specialists
  • Timely and compliant payroll reporting as and when required - ensuring all corporate policies, governance and controls are properly administered and adhered to
  • Providing advice and support to employees on all matters relating to pay by both telephone and email - working to agreed SLAs to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Administering processes used for starters, leaver, salary changes and permanent data adjustments
  • Processing and modifications to wages, deductions and payroll taxes
  • Processing electronic payments to employees (BACS), HMRC and other 3rd party vendors
  • Entry of payroll overrides and salary adjustments.
  • Processing of Tax Month/Year End (including all GL reconciling with FBP's)
  • Processing Start of Year Update testing and sign-off with HR Systems Lead
  • Processing Tax Month and Year End
  • Payrolling all non-cash benefits (taxing at source)
  • Remain up to date with new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll
  • In order to be successful as our Payroll Specialist, we would ideally like you to be/have:
  • Qualifications CIPP qualified or equivalent
  • An understanding of payroll processes utilised in end to end life cycle
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of UK Payroll and HR legislation and be able to advise where required
  • Experience working within a Payroll environment - with demonstrable experience of setting up and running efficient, end to end processes
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.

Knowledge of Zellis/Resourcelink software would be advantageous in this role, but is not essential.
