You’ll be joining our Highways team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions.

We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?

  • Take an active role in repairing and maintaining tools and signs, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Make safety your priority by taking reasonable care for your own health, safety, and welfare, as well as that of your colleagues, while adhering to all local and statutory Health & Safety procedures.
  • Be responsible for managing the depot stock system, setting up and maintaining stock lists, and ensuring stock levels are well-maintained.
  • Organise and oversee stock movement, booking materials in and out of the depot to keep everything organised.
  • Use your skills to operate equipment, including loading shovels and forklifts, to assist with the efficient loading and unloading of materials arriving at the depot.
  • Play a key role in managing plant hire and off-hire processes, as well as ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to gangs.
  • Be a dependable team member by participating in an out-of-hours emergency call-out system, supporting the Cambridgeshire Highways Services network when required.
  • Support vital operations by taking part in Winter maintenance activities, helping to ensure smooth and safe operations during challenging weather conditions.
  • Take responsibility for the security of the depot, managing tasks such as unlocking and locking the site as required.
