Oak Scaffolding is looking for an experienced Scaffolding Inspector to join our growing team.
Based in Brighton and working across sites throughout the South East, you\'ll play a key role in ensuring all scaffolding operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and expanding scaffolding contractor, working on a wide range of commercial, industrial, and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect all scaffolding on construction sites to ensure compliance with current legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Monitor the design and certification of scaffolding structures in accordance with relevant specifications.
- Carry out scaffold inspections before first use, following alterations, and at regular intervals.
- Assess the condition of scaffolding materials, removing damaged or defective components from service.
- Ensure scaffold inspections are recorded accurately and maintained in line with statutory requirements.
- Advise on the suitability of specialist scaffolding systems and ensure they meet project and health and safety requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on scaffolding works to site teams and contractors.
- Ensure scaffold materials are correctly identified, maintained, and stored safely.
- Calculate counterweights for heavy-duty suspended scaffolds where required.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and industry best practice.
- Review scaffold designs, considering loading requirements, tie patterns, fall protection, support systems, and access arrangements.
- Supervise scaffold erection where required.
- Inspect mobile scaffolds and monitor their safe use across all sites.
- Complete daily inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- What We\'re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Scaffolding Inspector within the construction or scaffolding industry.
- A strong understanding of current scaffolding legislation and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of scaffold inspection procedures and industry best practice.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- A proactive and safety-focused approach.
