We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated clinical pharmacist to co‑lead our Womens and Children Pharmacy Service. You will provide highly specialist and advanced clinical and professional pharmaceutical services to patients at Newham Hospital. The successful candidate will join a supportive, integrated pharmacy team, committed to delivering high quality patient care. You will have access to further educational opportunities and senior clinicians within Pharmacy and other disciplines who can provide mentorship and aid professional development.

  • To be responsible for the Clinical Pharmacy and Medicines Management services within the Womens and Children Services alongside the highly specialist Oncology and Paediatric Pharmacist.
  • To manage the rotational specialist pharmacist, and trainees within the Womens and Children rotations and ensure provision and continuity of service across the site.
  • To support the development of Womens and Children services in line with the Pharmacy Department and Barts Health Strategies.
  • Close working with the multidisciplinary and wider pharmacy team to optimise patient flow.
  • To actively support the improvement of Pharmacy Services based on evidence and appropriate innovation metrics.
  • To support the development of external links and actively input into local primary care organisations and any other relevant local and national specialist interest groups.
  • To promote high-quality, cost-effective prescribing for patients.
  • To work closely with the Clinical Services Lead pharmacist, to ensure development / standardisation of medicine policies and procedures where appropriate and compliance with medicines legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy and Trust staff on medicines savings and cost improvement opportunities.
