We are seeking to recruit an experienced CAMHS practitioner to provide clinical supervision to practitioners in the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS) for 0.6 WTE. THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) established following the government Green Paper: Transforming Children & Young People’s Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion and is part of the Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This service is based in a newly refurbished office in the vibrant borough of Whitechapel.

The service embraces continual improvement and wellbeing of the staff and has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve. The role is a senior leadership and management role in THEWS, involving being a line manager, as well as school and cluster lead overseeing whole school approach work.

The role as a clinical supervisor involves overseeing assessments, formulations and intervention plans for the parents, children, and young people the practitioners work with; holding in mind a wider range of therapeutic modalities (e.g., systemic), in order to maximise outcomes. This role involves supporting and developing the abilities of practitioners to deliver CBT-informed interventions for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, OCD and behaviour difficulties to parents and young people in secondary and primary schools.

This role also involves ensuring that the recording and reporting of clinical work by practitioners is consistent with the policies and protocols of the NHS and Trust, and that clinical and goal-based outcome measures are being used as required by MHSTs.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for details.

For further information about this role, please contact Ifeyinwa Ezeifedi, Team Lead THEWS (Ifeyinwa.ezeifedi@nhs.net).
