This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting inclusive practices and personal development across the school and ensuring that all learners have access to high-quality education tailored to their individual needs. We are seeking a candidate to build and strengthen our leadership team and its capacity to support the school.

About the school: Sedgemoor Manor School is very different to most schools, set in a calm idyllic site with several buildings for our small teaching groups (maximum 6 pupils) to engage and learn. We are almost at capacity with 100 places for pupils in year 3 through to sixth form. Sedgemoor Manor provides education for autistic children and young people, who are supported in working towards overcoming various challenges. The staff, curriculum, site and experiences here enable them to thrive and achieve excellent accreditation outcomes. Many pupils go on to college and university.
Person Specification:
- Good quality Honours degree in a related subject
- PGCE or equivalent in secondary or primary education
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Ability to deliver elements of key curriculum areas
- Successful experience teaching the relevant subject at Key Stage 2, 3 or 4
- Leadership and management experience
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and students
- Excellent relationships with children and young people
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
