To assist the cellular Pathology department to provide a high quality and effective service to users.

Receive referrals from GP’s and consultants, manage the booking system for patients and maintain documentation, receive patient samples.

Equipment maintenance and cleaning, stock checking, filing and scanning of forms and slides and preparation of semen analysis kits.

Undertake duties as required in the maintenance of the Diagnostic Preparation room, particularly the changing of reagents and cleaning of equipment.

To assist in the booking in of samples and transcription of results into the LIMS system.

Referrals and Appointments – Co-ordinate referrals, invitations, allocation of appointments for fertility and post vasectomy service using ICE ordercomms, Microsoft word, Excel, Medway and Evolve.

Ensure the appointment system is maintained and non-compliances recorded and escalated as appropriate.

Greet patients and receive the patient samples for delivery to the laboratory

Prepare semen analysis kits (weighed pots and patient information leaflets batched for GP surgeries)

Filing of slides and forms in numerical audit with due care and attention to enable retrieval for audit and Multidisciplinary Team Meeting reviews.

Undertake stock checking and ensuring stock levels are maintained for all laboratory activities
