Librarian and Intervention Support Required for September 2026 Permanent 25 Hours per week - 8:30am to 2:00pm (incl. 30-minute unpaid break) HC5 SCP6-11 - £14722-£15942 (Pay Award Pending) Thank you for taking an interest in our school.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised and literacy-focused individual to join our staff team as a Librarian and Intervention Support.
About the Role
- Support pupils’ literacy development and reading for pleasure across the school.
- Manage the daily operation of the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming, well-organised and purposeful learning environment.
- Provide targeted literacy support to individuals and small groups, including pupils with special educational needs.
- Promote a positive reading culture through events such as book fairs, reading initiatives and pupil librarian programmes.
- Support teaching and learning more widely as a student services team worker both in and beyond the classroom when required.
- The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience of working as a teacher or Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school or similar setting.
- Have a strong interest in literacy, reading and supporting pupils’ learning.
- Be organised, proactive and confident in managing resources and library systems.
- Relate well to pupils, staff and parents, maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
- Be a positive team player with a flexible and calm approach.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE.
