The Hospitality Shift Leader plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of hospitality services during events and daily operations. Acting as the first point of support for the team, the Shift Leader maintains service standards, motivates staff, and oversees operational tasks to create a seamless guest experience. With responsibility for service quality, team coordination, and compliance, this role ensures that every shift runs to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

About the role

Do you have a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences and leading teams to success? Burgess Hall, part of Huntingdonshire District Council’s One Leisure service, is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Hospitality Shift Leader to play a key role in the smooth delivery of our diverse calendar of events and functions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, guide, and support staff during shifts, ensuring service excellence and compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, responding professionally to guest feedback and ensuring every visitor has a positive experience.
  • Drive income growth by achieving sales targets through upselling, trading, and excellent product knowledge.
  • Oversee cash handling, shift reporting, and stock management to ensure accountability and operational efficiency.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security across bar and catering facilities.
  • Support the wider One Leisure service in promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire both locally and beyond.
