We are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, we can offer placements that suit your availability and preferences.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Help create a structured and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement individual education plans
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour to teaching staff
- Support pupils during transitions and break times
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Resilient, patient and empathetic approach
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology or youth work (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
