About our service

Our Bank team offers you the opportunity to fit work around your study, family life or caring commitments. As a Bank team member, you will be part of our service, gaining experience as a valued member of the team. Supported living and short breaks services support adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental ill health. Support needs vary from person to person and may range from needing high levels of support 24/7 or just requiring help to manage day to day tasks. Everyone is unique and support is tailored to their individual needs.

What you’ll do

  • Work in peoples’ own homes to support them with:
    • Meeting their basic daily needs and achieve their goals
    • Personal hygiene, eating and drinking
    • Keeping their homes clean
    • Managing their money
    • Taking their medication
    • Attending health appointments
    • Joining in with social and leisure activities at home and outside

In our short breaks’ services, people rely on you to support them to enjoy their time away from home while their carers have a well-deserved break.

What you’ll need

Many people we support may require assistance with personal care, and support with their mobility. Others may need support to walk to their local shops. You must be physically able to support people including using moving and handling equipment assessed for each person’s needs.

Mandatory training

Completion of the Care Certificate Mandatory Training Programme and workbook is required within your probationary period. The programme runs over 8 consecutive training days (28 hours per week) across a two-week period, and you must be available to attend all scheduled sessions, including both face-to-face and online training. Throughout your employment, you will also be required to attend mandatory training and refresher sessions on weekdays. Attendance is essential to remain eligible for shifts, and all mandatory training time will be paid.

What we need

We have shifts available on days or nights, including weekends and bank holidays. You would choose the shifts which suit you and can work at one location or across several sites. All we ask is that you commit to working regular hours with us. You don’t have to have experience or qualifications for this role – we will support you with all the induction and training you need.
