We connect people with what’s happening in their community, develop community ideas into action, strengthen local organisations, and provide strategic influence for the charity and voluntary sector. The Action Together team is vital in achieving the charity's purpose - to maximise opportunities to create positive social change; promote social justice and harness social benefit; and to strengthen the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector.

The purpose of the post: To coordinate the delivery of Healthwatch Tameside, ensuring engagement, consultation and outreach activities are delivered effectively and contractual requirements are met. The postholder will provide day to day support and development for Healthwatch Tameside staff and volunteers, build positive relationships with communities and partners, and ensure the views, experiences and priorities of local people are captured, evidenced and shared to help improve health and care services.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who:

  • Is organised and proactive with experience of delivering projects, engagement activities or services and building strong relationships with communities and partners.
  • They will be an excellent communicator, able to gather and analyse information, manage competing priorities and turn local people's experiences into meaningful insight and action.
  • Passionate about community involvement and improving services, they will demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and ensuring that local voices influence decision-making.
