We are seeking an enthusiastic health care assistant who would like to specialise in eating disorders and join our team. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time position, 12-month fixed term contract, starting September/October 2026.

The postholder will provide nursing input to young people receiving inpatient treatment for eating disorders at Southwest London and St. George’s Mental Health Trust.

The successful applicant will work alongside registered mental health nurses, nursing associates and other multidisciplinary team. The applicant will work with a caseload of young people with eating disorders, deliver therapeutic interventions, and work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.

Additionally, the role includes providing therapeutic eating support, continuous professional development, and collaborative work with other nursing staff, doctors, students, and other healthcare professionals.

This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of eating disorder treatment within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Senior Healthcare Support Workers provide personalised care to service

users, undertaking clinical tasks with supportive supervision as required.

Those in this role will spend significant amounts of time engaging with people who use our services.

  • To provide nursing care to young people receiving eating disorder treatment at Springfield hospital.
  • To work collaboratively with the team in the management of eating disorders to the multidisciplinary team
  • To provide therapeutic eating support to young people, carers and families on nutritional issues relating to mental health.
  • To contribute to the development of care plans that reflect young people’s needs, working in partnership with the wider MDT and their families.
  • To work across the ED service and provide cover as necessary depending on service needs
