This is a rewarding opportunity to join a growing education provision and deliver practical, engaging learning that helps young people prepare for further education, apprenticeships and careers in the care sector. As the Health and Social Care Tutor, you will deliver Health and Social Care qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2, supporting learners from enrolment through to achievement. You will create an inclusive learning environment where learners develop vocational knowledge, employability skills, confidence and resilience. You will also provide pastoral and tutorial support, monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and work with colleagues to support English and Maths achievement.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Health and Social Care Tutor include:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in Health and Social Care across Entry Level to Level 2 programmes
  • Monitor learner progress, use assessment information effectively and maintain accurate learner records
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans and resources that support learner achievement
  • Provide tutorial and pastoral support that helps learners overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes
  • Work with specialist colleagues to support learner progress in English and Maths qualifications
  • Embed employability, social skills, digital skills and personal development into teaching and learning
  • Contribute to course reviews, quality assurance, standardisation meetings and compliant learner administration
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, diversity and positive behaviour across the learning environment
  • Monitor learner work placements and complete health and safety checks in line with organisational procedures

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related subject
  • Relevant industry experience working with adults in care settings
  • Experience teaching or supporting young people in an education or training environment
  • Ability to plan and deliver learning that meets individual learner needs
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Good ICT skills, including Microsoft packages and eILPs
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, learner wellbeing and positive learner outcomes
