About the Role

  • Load and unload refrigerated vehicles at the depot and delivery locations, ensuring all goods are handled safely and in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Complete daily delivery routes from Haverfordwest to supermarket stores across South Wales, typically making 4 to 5 drops per shift for a structured and efficient working day.
  • Carry out handballing and self-tipping at delivery points, making this an ideal role for drivers who enjoy an active, hands-on position.
  • Plan your daily route based on delivery schedules, traffic conditions and delivery order, giving you a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Perform comprehensive vehicle safety checks each day, using a company-issued smartphone to record inspections and ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
  • Maintain regular communication with the transport team throughout your shift, providing updates and reporting any issues to support smooth and efficient operations.
  • Complete delivery documentation accurately and use digital systems to confirm deliveries and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Attend ongoing training and development sessions to stay current with industry regulations, safety requirements and best practices.
  • Act as a professional ambassador for the business, delivering excellent service to store teams and helping to uphold our reputation for reliability, quality and care.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • You must hold a valid UK Class 1 CE licence, enabling you to operate articulated vehicles with confidence and professionalism.
  • A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card are essential to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
  • Previous experience working with refrigerated trailers is advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be provided to get you up to speed.
  • We're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service, representing our brand with professionalism and care at every stop.
  • You'll need to be comfortable working to tight schedules, managing your time effectively to ensure deliveries are made promptly and safely.

  • A good understanding of UK road network, particularly across Wales and surrounding regions, will help you navigate routes efficiently and avoid delays.

Plus, for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.

Shift Hours : Start times between 03:00hrs and 06:00hrs, on a 4on 4off rota.

Overtime : Available and paid at an hourly rate.
