This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, challenging and busy specialty to improve understanding and experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. These appointments are initially for 6 months and will be based mainly at Northwick Park Hospital. It requires motivated doctors with some Oral & Maxillofacial surgery experience to work with other trainee doctors and consultants to care for the emergency and elective patients within OMFS and Head & Neck.
A broad based knowledge in all aspects of OMFS is beneficial but the weekly timetable can be adjusted considering the experience of the successful candidate and the need of the service. The successful candidate will work as a member of the middle grade team who all are both medically and dentally qualified doctors supporting services across the network and participating in 2nd call rota.
The London North West Regional Maxillofacial Unit opened its doors at Northwick Park Hospital in May 2006. There is a state of the art maxillofacial and orthodontic laboratory, administrative wing and offices for Oral & Maxillofacial consultants, secretaries and junior doctors. Outpatients facilities are of the latest designs and have PACs associated oral and facial imaging equipment including X-ray and ultrasound imaging and facilities for nasendoscopy.
