This post is to provide direct support to the Quality Assurance Officer in the management of the day-to-day aspects of the Quality unit. The Quality Assurance section of the Pharmacy department is responsible for ensuring pharmaceutical products manufactured in the Pharmacy Technical Services department are compliant with regulatory requirements and safe for sale and supply to other Trusts and for patient administration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking and reviewing environmental monitoring of the Pharmacy clean rooms at NPH and other sites as necessary, including maintaining accurate and legible records of all quality and manufacturing activities undertaken as per current good documentation principles and GxP DI requirements.
- Analysis, review, interpretation, and reporting/quality approval of test results of a wide range of raw materials, packaging components, consumables, intermediates, and final products, including review of analytical/microbiology testing, commissioning, qualification, and validation data.
- Assisting in the establishment, maintenance, and updating of comprehensive laboratory standard operating procedures, protocols, worksheets, documentation, and maintenance of full records of testing/review of all raw materials, packaging components, intermediates, and finished products as necessary.
- Assisting with practical and theoretical training of permanent and rotational staff in the QC section.
- Participating in inter-laboratory testing schemes if required (Pharm assure Proficiency Testing).
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the QA Officer and/or Head of Quality.
