We are looking for enthusiastic registered nurses from a variety of backgrounds and experience to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for any Registered Nurse who may be considering applying to undertake a SCPHN programme and wishes to develop their skills and gain experience of working within the school nursing skill mix team.
Community Staff Nurses-School Nursing manage a school nursing case load for a group of schools, with the support and supervision of Band 6 SCPHN School Nurses within a large skill mixed team. The team provides a universal and targeted school nursing service to mainstream primary and secondary schools, pupil referral units and special schools across Harrow.
The successful candidate will support the completion of comprehensive health needs assessment of clients, families and community and facilitate the mobilisation of appropriate resources to meet identified needs. The post holder will ensure inter-agency/professional partnership working between services, statutory and voluntary organisations to facilitate integrated approaches in meeting the needs of children, including safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for public health are essential, alongside good organisational skills, flexibility to meet the needs of the service and ability to travel independently to meet service delivery as required. A car driver with access to use of a car is essential.
Band 5 nurses contribute to the effectiveness of services by:
- Providing skilled, evidence based nursing care which adheres to agreed policies and procedures
- Working with patients and families in all stages of the care planning process including assessing risks and needs
- Acting as patient advocates in the multi-disciplinary team and overseeing the work of others to ensure that they are also responding to the needs of patients and providing clinically effective care
- Working as autonomous practitioners and taking responsibility for the care they give to patients but within their own limits of competency and confidence
Salary: £36,943 - £44,900 per annum inc HCAS (pro rata if P/T). Hours: Part-time. Location: Harrow, HA1 3DJ. Job type: Contract.
