The Green Spaces and Street Scene Service is responsible for maintaining the beautiful borough of Calderdale. This includes maintaining parks and open spaces through tasks such as grass cutting and strimming, hard and soft landscaping, fine turf care and ornamental horticulture, managing and maintaining countryside areas including Ogden Water, tree management, providing allotments, managing and maintaining children’s outdoor play areas, street cleaning such as sweeping, litter picking, emptying litter bins.

As Allotments and Asset Lettings Officer, you will play a key role in managing Calderdale Council's allotment sites and supporting the effective letting and administration of a range of Council-owned land and assets. You will be responsible for developing positive relationships with allotment tenants and leaseholders, helping to ensure that sites are well managed, accessible and contribute positively to local communities.

The role involves overseeing tenancy and lease arrangements, managing waiting lists, undertaking site inspections, responding to customer enquiries and supporting compliance with tenancy agreements, leases and relevant policies. You will also work closely with colleagues, and partner organisations to encourage good site management, resolve issues and identify opportunities to maximise the use and value of Council assets.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing customer relationships, administering tenancy, lease or licensing arrangements, and dealing with a range of stakeholders in a professional and effective manner. You will be organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining high standards of customer service and attention to detail.
