Part Qualified Accountant in Halesowen

Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing and innovative business based in Halesowen.

Due to continued growth, the company is seeking a proactive and ambitious Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring accountant who is looking to broaden their experience across all aspects of finance while working closely with an experienced Finance Director.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to management accounts, forecasting, treasury, statutory reporting and commercial finance activities within a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function whilst assisting with the development of financial reporting and decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities will include

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior management.
• Supporting treasury activities, including supplier payment runs and cash flow monitoring.
• Assisting with short and long-term cash flow forecasting and project income forecasting.
• Supporting monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for group headquarters.
• Assisting with statutory compliance requirements, including HMRC submissions, Companies House reporting, National Statistics returns and year-end audit preparation.
• Developing and improving financial and operational reports to support business performance and decision-making.
• Providing support to the Finance Director and acting as a deputy where required.
• Managing the purchase ledger function, including processing supplier invoices, reconciling supplier accounts and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Supporting sales ledger activities, preparing customer invoices, reconciling bank accounts and assisting with credit control to improve cash collection.
• What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be

• Studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA (Part-Qualified Accountant).
• Experienced within a finance or accounting environment.
• Confident working across both transactional and month-end accounting activities.
• Comfortable using Excel at an intermediate level, including reporting and data analysis.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive problem-solver who can work independently and use their own initiative.
• Strong communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ambitious and eager to develop a broad range of accounting and commercial finance skills.
