As a Kitchen Porter at Sodexo [insert location], you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, working behind the scenes to support our chefs and ensure every dish is served to the highest standard.

What you’ll do
- Keep the kitchen, pot wash and pan wash areas clean, safe and organised throughout the day.
- Wash and clean plates, trays, crockery, pans and kitchen equipment to support a smooth catering service.
- Keep restaurant tables, coffee stations and service areas clean, tidy and well stocked.
- Empty, clean and replace bin bags, ensuring all waste is disposed of correctly.
- Keep up with demand for cutlery, trays, cups and plates, ensuring the catering team has what they need.
- Receive, check and safely store catering deliveries in line with your training and site procedures.
- Complete cleaning schedules and other reasonable tasks requested by your line manager, while following site policies and health and safety requirements.
What you bring
- No previous experience needed — just the right mindset and a positive, reliable and hardworking approach, with a willingness to support the wider catering team.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues and hospital staff.
- An understanding of the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in a hospital environment.
- Good awareness of health and safety, including safe working practices and manual handling.
- The ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, site procedures and COSHH requirements.
- Good organisation skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
