Class 2/CAT C Drivers Wanted - Gatwick Airport Waste & Recycling Contract
The Best Connection has an exciting opportunity for 5 x Class 2/CAT C Drivers Days and 1 x Class 2/CAT C Drivers Nights to join a busy operation based at Gatwick Airport. Unlike typical HGV work, this role stays entirely on-site - you won't be covering long distances. Instead, you'll move between terminals and operational zones around the airport, picking up commercial and domestic waste and recycling, then delivering it to the on-site recycling centre. Expect a role that combines driving with genuine physical activity - it's far more hands-on than a standard delivery job.

Rate: £17.82 per hour
Rota: 4 on, 4 off (may vary)
Hours: 06:00-18:00 (Days) or 18:00-06:00 (Nights)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Operating a Class 2 vehicle safely across the airport grounds
- Picking up waste and recycling materials from various terminals and work areas
- Delivering collected materials to the airport's recycling facility
- Loading/unloading waste bins and containers
- Performing routine pre-shift vehicle checks and keeping documentation up to date
- Flagging any vehicle issues, damage or faults without delay
- Staying in regular contact with the wider operations team
- Complying with Drivers' Hours rules, Working Time Directive requirements and Tachograph law
- Adhering to airport-specific security protocols and site safety standards
- Taking on other duties as reasonably required by the operation
What We're Looking For in the Class 2/CAT C Drivers:
- Full UK driving licence, Category C (Class 2)
- Minimum 12 months' recent experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles professionally
- Current CPC certification and a Digital Tachograph Card
- Solid spoken and written English skills
- Someone happy to be active and physically engaged, not just sitting behind the wheel
- A dependable, conscientious worker who takes pride in their output
- Able to supply a full, verifiable 5-year work and/or education history (required for airside clearance)
- Willing to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
