You will be based at one of our Surrey-wide office hubs, working out in the community, with the flexibility of hybrid working to support your professional and personal needs.
- Main Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective care to children in their homes and the community, as delegated by the Named Nurse.
- Recognise safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.
- Maintain competencies in specific clinical skills and be familiar with emergency procedures, including escalation and resuscitation when needed.
- Support childrens development in partnership with families and the team across various settings.
- Help maintain a safe, stimulating environment and record the childs condition, taking appropriate action.
- Organize daily activities and attend training and supervision sessions.
- Complete the HCRG Care Certificate within 3 months (if required) and stay updated with relevant training.
- Follow infection control and health & safety policies, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively, especially in situations with communication barriers, and liaise with the childs care team.
- Participate in team meetings, maintain accurate records, and support colleagues by sharing information and addressing concerns.
- Schedule: 24/7 service with night shifts across the year, including weekends.

- The Ideal Candidate
- Understanding the impact of providing/receiving care in the home for children with complex medical needs and their families.
- Ability to participate in training of new staff in a variety of settings.
- Willingness to work towards experienced to teach part of Competency Framework.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to relate to children.
Desirable
- NVQ 3 in health or social care or recognised nursery nurse qualification.
- GCSE in Maths and English.
- British Sign Language level 1.
- Makaton.
- Experience of relevant clinical procedures and technology dependency.
- Minimum of 1yr experience working with children with complex health needs.
- Minimum of 1yr working with children in other setting, e. g. nursery, respite service.
