An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced registered Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional to join the Bristol NHS Group as a Group Temporary Staffing Clinical Team Lead. This is a key leadership role within the Temporary Staffing service, providing clinical oversight and professional leadership to temporary nursing, midwifery, and AHP workers across NBT and UHBW.
The successful post holder will support the recruitment, development, and ongoing assurance of a high-quality temporary workforce, ensuring staff are competent, compliant and able to deliver safe and effective patient care. The role involves working closely with senior clinical and operational teams, acting as a key link between services and the bank workforce, and contributing to improvements in patient safety, staff experience, and service delivery.
The post holder will also support the management of complaints, performance concerns and learning to drive continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a clinician looking to move into a broader leadership position with impact across multiple services, while remaining grounded in clinical standards and patient care.
This role supports the Temporary Staffing Management and Call Centre team in delivering a skilled and competent bank and agency workforce that maintains high clinical standards and quality of care across Bristol NHS Group. The post holder will provide professional leadership to clinical bank and agency staff, supporting their recruitment, induction, retention, and ongoing development while ensuring compliance with professional registration, training requirements, and evidence-based practice to safeguard patient safety.
Responsibilities include assisting with end-to-end recruitment processes using systems such as TRAC, supporting staff revalidation, addressing mandatory training compliance, and contributing to education and development programmes. The role also involves managing relationships with external agencies, responding to staffing issues, performance concerns, and complaints, and acting as a key liaison with senior stakeholders including Divisional Directors of Nursing, matrons, and operational teams.
The post holder will contribute to effective communication, attend relevant meetings, and provide guidance and support to bank staff. In addition, they will support organisational processes such as policy development, KPI reporting, and regulatory submissions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and confidentiality.
