A well-established organisation is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based in Grimsby, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement with one day per week working from home. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of their workload and providing accurate financial insight to support decision-making.
Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in delivering monthly management accounts, supporting budget holders, and contributing to the organisation's budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes. You will also support the external audit process and help ensure financial information is accurate, timely and compliant.
What you will be doing:
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Analyse income and expenditure, identifying and explaining financial variances.
- Support budget holders with financial information, advice and resolving queries.
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including financial analysis and reporting.
- Assist with year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
- Provide financial insight and support to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
- Strong management accounting and financial control experience.
- Confident analysing financial data and explaining variances to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, organised and able to work independently using your own initiative.
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.
Qualifications:
- ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience.
