Duties of a HGV Technician
- Inspect and repair HGV vehicles to DVSA standards, including MOT preparation and presentation
- Diagnose faults using specialist diagnostic equipment
- Conduct general mechanical and electrical repairs
- Attend breakdowns, including offsite work when required
- Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance
- Ensure customer vehicles are kept on the road through excellent service
- Work effectively within a team and adhere to workshop procedures
Requirements of a HGV Technician
- Proven experience working on HGVs
- Level 3 HGV qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ) preferred or equivalent skill level
- Strong workshop experience with a high standard of workmanship
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own set of tools
