Looking for a rewarding day or night role where you can truly make a difference? Join Active Care in the Home and become part of a dedicated team supporting a young boy with complex health needs in the comfort and familiarity of his family home. This is more than a care role; it's an opportunity to build a meaningful relationship, provide personalised, person-centred support, and help our client live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible. Every shift is a chance to make a positive impact, not only in his life but also in the lives of those closest to him.
If you're passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality care and want to be part of a supportive team that puts the individual at the heart of everything we do, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role:
Active Care in the Home is expanding our client base and is recruiting a brand-new team of Children's Support Workers to provide daytime and overnight care for our young client in his family homes in Charlton and Welling. Our client is a young boy with complex care needs, including gastrostomy feeding (NBM), epilepsy, dystonia, mobility limitations, and sight and hearing impairments. You will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical support, including:
- Suctioning (nasopharyngeal and oral)
- Nebuliser therapy
- Physiotherapy support
- Indwelling catheter care (with a planned transition to a suprapubic catheter)
- POD temperature control
- Supporting with a range of clinical equipment
Our client lives between both his mum's and dad's homes in Charlton (SE7) and Welling (DA17), so flexibility to work across both locations is essential. Care is delivered on a double-handed basis. Our team will provide one Children's Support Worker per shift, working alongside an established support worker already in place. We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous clinical care and epilepsy experience. A full UK driving licence is preferred, as you may be required to drive the client's mobility vehicle. Due to the nature of the role and the client's needs, non-smokers are preferred.
When you will be working:
- After school: 3 shifts per week 3:30-8pm
- Nights: 7:45pm-8:15 x3 night shifts
- Saturdays: 12-hour day shift and 12-hour night shift
- School holidays: 12-hour shifts x3 days and x3 nights
In this role, you'll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract.
What to look forward to:
- Earn up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
- Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from your Care Manager
- Access to holiday pay, regular monthly rotas, and recognition through our Active Awards programme
- Refer a friend and earn up to £
- A chance to build a meaningful career with the backing of a leading clinical and business team
At Active Care Group, we want everyone to feel welcome and supported. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment or interview process, just let us know and we'd be very happy to discuss this with you.
