I am a 47 year old woman living with Chronic Fatigue, and other health challenges.

I am a mum with five children currently living at home, all of whom have additional needs.

Family life can be busy and unpredictable, so I am looking for a kind, understanding, and reliable Personal Assistant who can support me to manage day-to-day tasks and maintain a positive home environment.

I enjoy swimming and would like support to access activities in the community, attend appointments, and continue to live as independently as possible.

I share my home with four friendly French Bulldogs, so it is important that you are comfortable around dogs.

I am seeking someone who is caring, empathetic, patient, and able to work flexibly within a busy family setting.

  • Provide personal care assistance, including support with washing and dressing.
  • Assist with household tasks, including cleaning and general domestic duties.
  • Support with meal planning and preparation.
  • Assist with shopping and other everyday tasks.
  • Provide support with transport and travel to appointments and activities.
  • Support access to social and community activities, including swimming where appropriate.
  • Assist in supporting and managing family life within a busy household.
  • Build a positive and supportive working relationship whilst respecting privacy and dignity.

Essential

  • Female applicant (this post is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the provision of personal care).
  • Caring, friendly, reliable, and empathetic.
  • Comfortable working in a busy family environment.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, autism and additional needs.
  • Comfortable around dogs, as there are four French Bulldogs in the home.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting people with autism or additional needs.

This is a part time post and will be around 14 hours per week, split across two Personal Assistants (28.45 per week in total).

Patterns of work, including hours, will be discussed at interview.

  • Self employed £15.55Employed £12.89

A higher hourly rate is available for self-employed carers, reflecting that they are responsible for their own holiday provision, National Insurance, pension arrangements, and other employment-related costs.

Self-employed carers must also demonstrate that they are fully insured, and registered with HMRC.

Employees and workers in the UK are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks' paid annual leave per year on an FTE basis. Part time roles will be calculated pro rata.

Self-employed individuals are not entitled to statutory paid holiday leave, and any time off is unpaid unless they make their own financial arrangements.
