I am a friendly lady with complex health needs, who is seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support me in my daily life at home. I live with COPD, which causes breathlessness, as well as chronic pain and muscle weakness, which significantly impact my mobility. As a result, I am a wheelchair user. This role involves providing practical and personal support with day-to-day tasks, including personal care, mobility, and assistance with maintaining my body temperature, which can fluctuate. You will play an important role in ensuring my safety, comfort, and wellbeing, while supporting me to maintain as much independence as possible in my daily life.

Details:
- Support with maintaining body temperature, including preparing ice packs and fresh water bottles from the freezer and ensuring they are safely wrapped
- Assist with batched cooking and preparing ready meals
- Support with general housekeeping, including keeping the environment tidy and items stored appropriately after use
- Carry out domestic duties, such as washing up
- Provide personal care, including support with dressing when leaving the house, and assistance with showering and hair washing
- Empty and clean the commode as required
- Maintain a high standard of hand hygiene, including washing hands on arrival and when appropriate throughout the shift
- Wear provided PPE, including gloves and a mask
- Support with safe mobility, including assisting with walking where appropriate
- Refill water filter and kettle as required

Summary terms and conditions:
The rate of pay for this position is £13.53 per hour, weekend hours are paid at £15.62 per hour. You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Hours and days of work: 26 hours per week
- Tuesdays 16:30 – 17:30
- Wednesdays 09:00 - 13:30, 16:30 – 18:00
- Thursdays 16:30 – 17:30
- Fridays 09:00 - 13:30, 16:30 – 18:00
- Saturdays 09:00 - 13:30, 16:30 - 17:30
- Sundays 09:00 - 13:30, 16:30 - 17:30
Additional hours to cover holidays and sickness. The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Should this job role include any of the following duties: food preparation, moving & handling, chemical handling (general household cleaning products) or the handling of medication, you will be required to undertake mandatory training.
The post is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
